Why start a veteran-owned small business?
Veterans are natural entrepreneurs and business leaders. They are disciplined, goal-oriented self-starters. Accustomed to accountability, they know the value of being decisive and flexible. Leveraging the talents of transitioning service members will promote self-employment and will help stimulate the economy. If you are a transitioning service member, Boots to Business is available through Redstone Arsenal as an elective track within the Department of Defense's Transition Assistance Program (TAP).
Boots to Business: Reboot is a two-day entrepreneurial boot camp providing participants with the tools and knowledge to identify a business opportunity, draft a business plan, connect with local resources, access startup capital, and launch their small business.
Following Boots to Business: Reboot, participants are eligible to register for “Foundations of Entrepreneurship,” an eight-week online course offering in-depth instruction on the elements of a business plan and techniques and tips for starting a business.
