The Women’s Business center is uniquely in-tune with the needs of small business, both in the start-up and existing business phases. We also know that to be successful, you need access to resources that help you gain knowledge and receive the guidance and support required to succeed.

As a project of The Catalyst, the mission of the Women’s Business Center is to help women start and grow small businesses in North Alabama. In so doing, we aim to empower women in all stages of business as a premier resource to provide as many opportunities as possible.

Learn from an “Espresso-monial”: A shot of inspiration from a local business leader who shares her 15 – 20-minute story of how she launched her business, overcame a challenge, or how she climbed the corporate ladder to where she is today. Network and connect with other strong, resourceful, and highly-productive businesswomen and experts.
A mompreneur is a female business owner who actively balances the roles of mother and of entrepreneur. Join in this small intimate environment where moms can learn, connect, grow, and be inspired by each other.
This Annual Women’s Conference covers many topics facing the female entrepreneur. It includes topics for the The Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program that was implemented with the goal of expanding the number of industries where WOSBs can compete for business with the federal government as well as for the General business owner and the mompreneur.
The annual BIG Marketing & PR Event focuses on BIG ideas for small budgets, strategic public relations planning, marketing trends, and how to leverage today’s technologies to grow your business or organization. This event includes small business owners, marketing & PR professionals, and non-profit organizations from all over the Tennessee valley. This event is also centered around specific, usable and strategy-driven takeaways that will help you in your day-to-day role in marketing and public relations.
Each year, The Catalyst celebrates the courage and determination and perseverance it takes to be an entrepreneur in North Alabama. Unlike anything else in the region, the Entrepreneur Awards focuses strictly on the accomplishments of an entrepreneur in several categories- Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year: Creative Entrepreneur of the Year: Female Entrepreneur of the Year: Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year: Youth Entrepreneur of the Year: Non-Profit Entrepreneur of the Year: and of course THE Entrepreneur of the Year.
